Looking for the Perfect Beach Getaway that balances privacy with access to services?

Want something beautiful, yet affordable? Artistic, yet functional?

Whether you have a large family or you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, Ninos Del Mar will make your vacation special and memorable!

Ninos Del Mar is a brand new building (completed in February 2008), designed and constructed by Meridian architects, Victor Carrillo and Ingrid Peon.  In addition, in May 2009, we invited Draya Ramirez, a hot new artist from Telchac Puerto, to create her original murals throughout the building.

Tasteful design and colors; comfortable beds; and wireless internet are just some of the amenities that will make your stay with us restful, easy, and special.

In Telchac Puerto, you will experience the calm, emerald waters of the western Carribean; white beaches with hardly a person on them; unique wildlife (colorful native birds, hummingbirds, flamingos, iguanas, geckos, and if you are lucky, a croc in the lagoon); amazing Mexican seafood restaurants; grocery stores; bakeries; liquor stores; town square with modern children’s playground; and wonderful Mayan people with their warm smiles, colorful crafts, and readiness to be helpful. The nearest banks are in Motul and Progreso, 20 minutes to the south and west, respectively.  Telchac Puerto is where Mexicans go for vacation!

Our house has three living areas.  The Coco Casita and the Tortuga Casita, both located on ground level, are identical apartments and are located side by side Each apartment has two bedrooms, one 3 piece bath, fully equipped kitchen, hammock hooks throughout, one palapa each, and access to the common swimming pool.

The upstairs is one self contained home, occasionally used by the owners, and ‘heavenly’.  In addition to three bedrooms and two baths, there is a large open living area, island style kitchen, beautiful talavera work throughout, and of course, Draya’s murals.  Then there is the balcony – ah, yes.  Overlooking the pool and with a spectacular view of the ocean, your large balcony has a gorgeous palapa from under which you can enjoy your morning coffee; read your novel to the sound of birds and breezes; cruise the internet; take your siesta in a hammock; entertain friends and family; have romantic interludes while enjoying the burnt orange and pink sunsets… the possibilities are endless!

From the rooftop you can enjoy a full 360 degree view of the area, which includes the harbor where all the ships come in; the lagoon; the Gulf (of course) and the lights of Telchac Puerto in the distance.  In the daytime, take your binoculars up and surprise yourself with what you can see.  At night, enjoy stargazing like you’ve never seen it.   There is a spiral staircase which enables you to access the roof – watch your step!

Guest review:

My family and I had a wonderful three weeks staying at Ninos Del Mar.  It is a perfect location: very scenic, quiet and very safe.  The house is very comfortable and has a large, spacious living area and good sized bedrooms.  The large balcony and roof terrace have superb views of the Gulf of Mexico and the large garden which leads directly to the beach.  Within a short walk is a beautiful lagoon with flocks of flamingos and pelicans.  We also saw stingray.  It is one of the best places on the Yucatan to see flamingo.

The service offered i.e. cleaning, maintenance and pool management was of a high standard.

The pool is a very good size and well designed for children.  My children spent may hours in the pool and we could watch them very easily from the balcony.
It is a short walk to the sandy beach and the warm shallow waters of the Gulf are ideal for swimming and playing in the sea.

Ninos del Mar is centrally located.  There are many excellent restaurants in the area.  We often felt that there was no need to leave the tranquillity of Ninos del Mar but when we did there was more than enough to keep us occupied nearby.  The children loved the banana boating at Progresso, the water park between Progresso and Merida, and the world class Go Karting/Sports Centre on the Merida ring road.

In addition we had very enjoyable day trips which we would highly recommend to:

Beautiful colonial towns of Merida, Isamal and Valladolid.

Swim in cenotes

Unesco and world famous Myan ruin sites of Chichen Itza and and Uxmal

local Myan sites- Dzibilchaltun (where there is an excellent museum and cenotes to swim in) and Xtampu (just up the road- free and you often have the place to yourselves so you can feel as if you have gone back in time)

Boat trips at Celestun and San Felipe to see spectacular wild life and fresh water springs out to sea (we were fascinated by the fact that the area is the site of the meteorite that struck earth 65 million years ago and wiped out the dinosaurs, thus causing the springs out to sea as it was the edge of the impact)

Unesco recognised Campeche which is a beautiful and historic town is only 2.5 hours away so we were able to do it as a day trip.

Many beautiful churches and monasteries.

Lunch at one of the of the many elegant hacienda.

Finally, we will always have many happy memories of our time at Ninos del Mar and certainly hope to visit again in the future.
